Idea competition was held with the support of local universities and companies

We are making the future better!

This year, the "NOT CRAP FOR GRANDMA" – idea competition was held with the support of local universities and companies.

As part of the idea competition, the teams had to come up with an innovative idea, a design for a smart piece of furniture or object that could help the everyday life or care of our elderly companions. During the 6-week preparation period, the teams could use the help of professional mentors in the following areas: marketing, business plan preparation, technical issues. In the final, 3 teams had the opportunity to present their idea in a pitch.

The team of the award-winning idea can work together with am-LAB to create their first prototype, and thanks to at.home , they can also start testing the product with members of the target group. In addition, they get the opportunity to present their award-winning idea at an international level, and they also receive support in starting the patent process.

The idea of the team aims to provide a solution to the following problem:
"Elderly people are often clumsy and leave their wallets in conspicuous places. This gives pickpockets an opportunity to rob them and steal their money. Starting from this problem, our idea would be to implement a smart wallet."

The memebers of the team are students from the Eötvös Loránd University and the Faculty of Health Science at the University of Pécs.

The idea of the team aims to provide a solution to the following problem: " Nowadays, the members of the older age group have various waist and movement problems, which prevent objects from being lifted up and down lifting from shelves, bending down or stretching to reach something on the shelf requires a lot of strength and a lot of muscles. But it's not only the elderly who can have trouble performing these movements, the product we invented can also help people with limited mobility or trauma."
