The Szombathely2030 development plan aims to achieve the comprehensive and sustainable growth of the city for the next decade. However, it will only be successful if the participants carry out cohesive and value-creating specific activities as part of it.
At the end of July, during a partnership consultation, the participants – including the leadership of the city, universities, company executives, chamber of commerce, and economic development organizations – presented their achievements so far. Here are a few examples among the numerous initiatives mentioned:
- A master's program has been launched at the University of Pécs, Faculty of Health Sciences in Szombathely, focusing on complex rehabilitation.
- Joint research is starting in the field of doctoral education and social services development, involving the University of Pécs, Faculty of Health Sciences and PBN
- Szombathely and PBN have launched a joint program for city development based on open-access data.
- A professional event related to rehabilitation training was held collaboratively.
- The Chamber of Commerce and Industry created a unique presentation publication in three languages.
- Szombathely's development plans were presented by the leadership of the city to a wide professional audience in Belgium.
- The city and PBN initiated green energy-related development planning for large-scale investment preparation.
In the second part of the meeting, the participants agreed on joint developments they would like to implement in the next six months to one year, and they discussed the available resources for these projects. It is also the goal that each participant carries out at least one strategic project within the framework of the Szombathely2030 program.
