The declared goal of the Szombathely2030 Program is to establish new healthcare enterprises in the region. In order for the city to achieve this, there is a need to strengthen education and training related to healthcare. This initiative was the subject of the second edition of the Professional Day on Complex Rehabilitation.
The Professional Day was held on 7 February 2024 by the Szombathely Training Centre of the Faculty of Health Sciences of the University of Pécs and the at.home department of the Pannon Business Network Association. The event provided an interactive professional forum for professionals, researchers and interested parties, focusing on gerontology, the science of ageing, the challenges of an ageing society, the digitalisation of healthcare and complex rehabilitation. The agenda included plenary sessions, expert discussions, and interactive workshops, facilitating knowledge expansion and networking opportunities.
At the opening plenary session, Gábor Király, a partner of the University, presented the role of modern solutions of complex rehabilitation not only in the lives of athletes, but also in the lives of elderly people. He was joined by Councillor Adrienn Bokányi, who presented Szombathely's initiatives and programmes related to the health industry, complex rehabilitation, and active ageing, with the aim of attracting health industry manufacturers and businesses to the city.
Regina Rosta-Pethő, head of at.home, presented the role of digitalisation in elderly care and rehabilitation, followed by Annamária Habil Pakai, PhD, who promoted the MSc in Complex Rehabilitation at the Faculty of Health Sciences of the University of Pécs.
The second half of the event was dedicated to scientific presentations. This year, the professional lectures also served as accredited training for the 120 attendees, allowing those who successfully completed the exam at the end of the event to earn credit points.
